Tachometer signal

The Factory Ford BA / BF / FG PCM’s do not output a signal suitable for use with a tachometer or shift light.

ShiftKits Australia manufacture and sell tacho adapters which connect directly to the engine’s crankshaft sensor and output a signal suitable for use with aftermarket tachometers, and also vehicle specific tachometers ie Nissan Patrol, Toyota Landcruiser, Ford, and many others.

These tacho adapters do not intercept the coil power wires or piggyback off the injector wires like some of the other tachometer adapters that are available on the market. A common issue with the tachometer adapters that intercept the coil power wires, is that the tacho will give erratic or lower rpm readings when a spark cut event is introduced (ie spark cut rev-limiter, torque control or traction events)
